"Idiot's Lantern" Rose Tyler
While Rose isn't my all time favorite companion, I DO love this dress!  It's flirty, it's fun, it's 50's!  What's NOT to love!?  I've loved this dress for a while now, and finally added it to my list.

Duchess Satin for the Dress
Paillette Sequined fabric for the bodice
Shell flower pin
Pink Sunglasses
Pink crystal Drop Earrings
Styled blond wig with pink headband
*Blue Moto Jacket (currently waiting for this piece)

My fabric (inset) compared to the actual fabric.  It's the closest I could find in practically ALL of the NYC garment district.  Nothing else came close.

Alterations made to the Vogue V1094 pattern in black sharpie.  It was very easy.

Pick the large sequins off of your seam allowance before sewing!

Pin and make sure the sequins do not get under the area the machine will stitch.

I forgot to take a picture of the draping process.  Basically I sewed the bottom edge of the fabric and then put it on my dress form.  I pinned while pulling the fabric taught but not too tight.  I then cut away the excess, leaving a 5/8" seam allowance.

Here you can see the picked sequins, showing the fabric that will be folded under.

The sequins were picked off the edge and the fabric folded under itself.  I then carefully sewed it along the opening, walking the needle over sequins that got in the way.
