1 Before: The wood trim throughout the house was dry, brittle, and faded. And the trim was splattered with paint everywhere. Obviously the previous painters didn't care at all about protecting the wood.
2 Before: No luster.
3 The restoration involved painstakingly scraping dried paint off of the trim and then applying mineral oil, which did wonders in restoring the thirsty wood and bringing out the beauty of the grain.
4 It was pretty amazing how the thirsty wood just soaked up the moisture and came back to life.
5 And this was just mineral oil!

9 After drying for a few weeks then a second application with a mineral oil / boiled linseed oil mixture.
10 So much richer tones!
11 The wood trim around the fireplace was poorly positioned, revealing the gap in the back.
12 After repositioning the trim.
13 There was a pocket door between kitchen and living room, but it was completely unusable because the tile floor installers tiled in front of it, preventing it from closing. We didn't care about the door itself, but it was ugly to have the door frame gapping and uneven, with the exposed track on top
14 So we had the door ripped out and new trim installed, then grouted the gap at the bottom.
