Being November, we were told that the water volume was at its seasonal low, and this makes a very dramatic difference in the magnificence of the falls.

VF's average volume is less than half that of Niagara Falls' on an annual basis. But VF has such a seasonal variation that that is misleading. In high season (May), the avg monthly volume is 25% higher than Niagara's. But in low season (Nov), the avg monthly volume is only a tenth that much, or less than 1/8th that of Niagara Falls!

In high season, the water covers this entire expanse from trees to trees...

...(imagine that!)...

... and would be entirely covering the rocks where the man is standing.

But it is nevertheless pretty impressive.

We were told that in high season you would see no rock between these two sections.

And the water would stretch all the way across to the section behind those people on the right.

Totally dry in November!

Gary and I visited the Sunset Cafe on Saturday afternoon, before Linda and Lowell's group arrived.

We then had dinner at the Sunset Cafe a couple of days later -- on the night of the Super Moon.
