1 Meet adorable Sam Adams.
2 He is about 5 years old, likely a Rat Terrier - Chihuahua mix.
3 This long-legged little fellow weighs 16 lbs.
4 He is a very friendly fellow. Although he takes a little bit to warm up to strangers, after a few minutes he will be asking for pats.
5 Getting used to his new foster daddy.
6 And within a very short time, he decides that he has a new best friend.
7 Sam Adams has great house manners. He never gets into mischief of any kind. And although he doesn't like to be left alone, his only protest is some plaintiff barking for a bit... and extremely excited barking to welcome you home again!
8 Overall, though, he is a quiet, low-key, mellow fellow who just wants to hang out near you.
9 His housetraining has been absolutely perfect since he has been here, not even marking on those first few days before he was neutered.

11 Sam isn't a big pest for attention but sometimes, when he senses you're bored with what you're doing and need a break, he'll come offer you a distraction, perhaps with a little tap of his paw on your arm or leg.
12 When he wants something--like dinner or to go outside--he'll come give you these encouraging little glances. It's hard to resist his calm, gentle persuasion.
13 Sam Adams was very excited to meet his new foster sister, Corona! We were told that he previously lived with other dogs and with at least one cat, and got along harmoniously with all.
14 Even though Corona sometimes hogs the spotlight, and therefore gets the lion's share of the attention, Sammy finds the good snuggling spot. He has been a real gentleman about sharing his toys, his space, and even his bowl with "that young whippersnapper."
15 Is it time for dinner yet? I'm patiently waiting....
16 Sam Adams is also always ready to go for a walk, and he is a nice leash walker. He does okay with car rides -- generally quiet along the way but then barking when you come to your destination because he does not want to be left behind.
17 He barks very decisively when the doorbell rings or there is a knock at the door--or when he sees someone out the window up close to the house. (He ignores people walking along the street.) As soon as he identifies the person as a friend, either because he knows them or else because you acknowledge them, he stope the alert.
18 Always hoping for your attention.
19 Sam Adams would be an excellent companion for about any home, except probably not an apartment or somewhere that close neighbors might be disturbed if he were trying to warn against strange knocks or potential intruders while you were gone.
20 Otherwise, he is a quiet, gentle, perfectly behaved loverboy who will give his whole heart to his new family. Are you that family?
