Cooper is 4-1/2 years old. He originally came from a breeder in North Georgia.

He weighs 18-1/2 lbs. and stands 15" tall.

Cooper is a very gentle, docile, quiet boy. He is very cautious and shy on first introductions, but likes attention and will seek it from you within a few minutes.

Give him a short while, and this friendly guy will be wanting some lap time! He is a real cuddle bunny and will bury his head in your arms and surrender himself to you totally.

Ever since he has been a few months old, Cooper has had no hair on his ears, chest/tummy, or on a few places on his back and sides. He has tested negative for mange. It is NOT due to allergies, as he does not itch and doesn't scratch, lick, or rub the areas. Dietary and environmental changes do not make a difference.

His thyroid was tested, but everything came back fine. Other causes have been investigated and ruled out. In the bald patches, his skin is very healthy... with no inflammation, irritation, discoloration, scaliness, or dryness.

The lack of hair clearly doesn't bother HIM, so it seems to be purely cosmetic, possibly a genetic condition related to the gene mutation that resulted in the American Hairless Terrier breed.

He is a little nervous of unexpected fast movements so it will take him time to get comfortable with new kids.

We were told that he was housetrained, but when he first came here he had accidents. However, his he does great if kept on a schedule, and he has recently learned to go in/out through a doggie door. We can leave him loose in the house for a few hours at a time without potty problem.

He'll play keep-away, tug-of-war, and fetch a ball (and SOMETIMES bring it back). And he LOVES squeaky toys.

Indoors, Cooper is generally well-mannered. He isn't too rambunctious. But he does have his naughtiness: if the dinner table wasn't adquately cleared and someone leaves a chair pushed back invitingly, he is not hesitant to help himself to "leftovers."

He is a terrific, easy-going, loving guy who is waiting for a family who will adore him and keep him forever.
