Here is Camille, a well-behaved 8-year-old.

She came to rescue somewhat chubby but has already dropped a pound. She now weighs 18.2 lbs., on her way down to (ideally) about 16.5 or 17 lbs. She stands almost 14" tall.

Camille was surrendered by her family when the grandbaby become a toddler and would "chase her, pick at her, and hit her." Camille would "get snippish" at him at those times in self defense. Although she never nipped or bit, the family felt it easier to give her up than to restrain the baby or teach him to treat her right.

She came to rescue with a flea infestation that tormented her so badly she scratched and bit herself raw, resulting in a skin infection. She also had worms and a serious dental infection.

Camille is now worm and flea-free, and much, much more comfortable. She has had dental work to remove several bad teeth and clean up the others.

And with good nutrition and some medicated shampoos, her skin and coat are healing up nicely.

She likes to lie around on a comfortable pillow or lap or a nice sunny spot in the yard.

She LOVES riding in the car and going for a w-a-l-k. (You'd better spell it, because she knows what it means and gets very excited. She also knows what b-a-t-h means, but her reaction is decidedly different.) Camille is completely housetrained and is accustomed to "holding it" all day.

You think an 8-year-old is an old dog? Think again! Check out this frisky girl chasing her ball. (Click to view video.)

Cmille gets along great with other dogs, although she doesn't interact with them very much. She also does fine with cats in the home (but might try to chase a strange cat in "her" yard). But she obviously doesn't appreciate other dogs "barging in" on her ball time! Click to see the video.

Although she is not a super snuggler or clingingly affectionate, she is indeed very friendly and social.

She is waiting for her new family to find her.
