Hi! I'm Bolero.
The shelter said that I was 18 months old, but my foster parents say that I'm such a puppy I can't be a day over 12 months.
And it's true that I love to run and play, investigate anything and everything, chew on my toys, carry pine cones into the house to play with, jump on you while you're napping, wrestle with my foster brothers, and just generally have an all-around good time!
You wouldn't believe that this gorgeous face could possibly be a scamp, would you? My foster mom says that my good nature and happy spirits keep her laughing, even when I'm trying out something that I probably shouldn't.
Ah, well, I will learn it all in good time.
I've already learned a lot... like how to pay attention when someone says the word "treat"! I have also learned how to sleep quietly all night long in a crate and how to go in and out of a doggie door.
I didn't have to learn how to get along with my foster brothers because I just LOVE other dogs. I like to play with them and since they're older, I pretty much do what they tell me.
I also did not have to learn to get used to new people. I just love love love people. I love it when when pat me and pay attention to me and cuddle with me.
Right from the very beginning when I first met my foster mom, I just wanted to be in her lap.
If she wasn't offering a lap, that's ok. I just lean against her. That is almost as good.
This is me doing my New Rattitude T-shirt Dog imitation. I can't get my ears to do what that T-shirt dog's ears do, though.
My foster mom kept pointing something at me and it made clicky noises so was kind of worrisome. I'd follow her around, trying to get away from that thing and into her lap, but she kept backing away from me. I'm not sure what kind of dumb game that was. I was glad when she finally put the thing down and started throwing the ball for me to chase instead. I love balls!
In fact, I like just about any kind of toy. I like to chew on the hard ones, chase the round ones, destuff the soft ones, and carry any and all of them around the house. I don't mind sharing with the other dogs and I don't get huffy if someone takes a toy away. (What do you mean that a pine cone is not a toy?)
Sometimes my foster parents take all of us on a walk. I like exploring the neighborhood, but I think it is kind of weird to be attached to the thing they call a leash. I don't really mind it, but it's a little tricky to not get tangled up. Foster mom says that practice makes perfect and to be patient. Hey, as long as I get to be with the others and not left behind, I'm a happy boy.
You wouldn't mind having me in your lap since I weigh just 13-1/2 lbs. I admit I'm sometimes kinda wiggly, though.
I do love to give kisses. Do you like kisses? (If you are wondering what that is on my collar, it's duct tape -- my foster mom's way of helping me get used to collar tags without being able to reach them with my little white teeth.)
One of the things I'm working hard on is what my foster mom calls "house-training." It seems to me that it should be called YARD-training, because it's all about going outside. I like that. She says that I'm doing really well and is proud of my progress.
When I do my "business" outside, I get a treat and that is very cool. I hope that you'll continue that routine when I come to live with you!
I'm not ALWAYS on the go, ya know. Sometimes I like to just hang out in the yard with the boys, especially my foster brother Cal. He is the most fun to play with.
This is me posing for my portrait.
Are we done yet?
I'm all ready to pack my bags and come to brighten up your home!
