"eBay" radio slave. Tested separately with the Oly FL-50 and old Starblitz 3800 DEF... and an Olympus E-1. • The slave just triggered the flashes... no TTL control possible. • Flashes were on auto. • Blank wall in a darkened room. • No attempt to balance light output. This was just to show the effects of going over the 1/160th listed max sync speed of the E-1. • I see no loss at 1/250th — and very useable (in a pinch) at 1/320th. • First and second curtain had little (if any) difference on exposure area. I'd have to try it with a moving object to see if radio slave and second curtain actually works. I'm thinking it does. •• I've since acquired an E-330 and it synchs just fine at 1/250th with the radio slave. • Why not use FP? It does give higher sync speeds, but has lessened range — and it has to be tied to the camera, mounted or cabled (on pre E-3 Olys). Radio slaves have great range and the flash can be full power. • The same can be attained on hot-shoe mounted flashes. If it's a generic flash, no problem. If a flash dedicated for Oly DSLRs, the back pins need to be taped off or blocked by paper. This keeps the camera from identifying an Oly flash, which will allow a higher synch speed.

AA064 This is the set-up. Very portable and simple (no cables) — and this set has been very reliable, through 2-3,000 shots

76302277 1/320th, with FlashWave III slave. The trick here was that the ambient light was at about 1/320th... so the curtain shadow does not show.
