Flashing through the glass with an on-board flash will not work, so I tried putting my old Starblitz flash on the e-10 and I mounted the FL-40 on a tripod and put it down 2-3 panes of glass. I toned the Starblitz down and twisted the head to aim at the FL-40. After a few adjustments, I was synching at up to 1/320th. I'm sure I could have gone higher — but the background was going dark. Next, I'll try a diffuser or more slaves.

P1302315 I had turned off the FL-40 for a moment to see the diff between flash and no-flash. The FL-40 automatically reverts to auto mode when it's turned back on — and I hadn't put it back to manual. Too much power here, but it is nice and bright!
P1302321 My flash may have spoiled this guy's shot (but I was cheering for the other team anyway). The next second, both he and the goalie were on their backsides... and the puck was down the boards. The guy doofed on his shot — but apparently this wasn't a new experience for him.
P1302325 "Elvis" the goalie of the Hope Retreads, is Jeff Bodner, an RCMP traffic cop who sidelines as an Elvis impersonator — and an Oldtimer goalie.
P1302329 This puck was coming straight at me from the point, at about 70-80 miles per hour. (I love being able to go higher than 1/250th to freeze the puck!) I guess my hand-eye coordination was better than #44's, as he missed a great chance to end the shut-out. (I believe the puck shadow is at the feet of Blue #13.) Another slave flash from a different angle would have gotten the light around to #8 white.
