Horrible day for soccer! But it was okay if you were playing and moving. This field is well engineered, other than the goal puddle. Very well drained and not slick, as there's lots of sand in the mix.
0-0 for a long time, though Renny made a nice goal-line save, early on. Finally, Garry put a big pass over to the right wing. Clinton received it and took it in for the goal. 1-0 at the break.
Reffing was FAR better than Saturday's game and there was none of the old dirt. Only one yellow, for them.
1-0 for a long time in the second half, with a good wind at our backs, then they cracked in a nice shot to Kyle's top left corner from the top of the box.
Late in the game, Al took the ball to the deep right corner and worked through two or three defenders to bring it in front of the goal, then knocked it in.
"I was dyin'" he said after the game. "I was hoping to pass off, but then I had a shot."
