PlayoffLossToYoungGuns4to0
We held the Young Guns to 0-0 at the half, but we just ran out of gas and they kept refueling.
We had a chance in the middle of the first half on a low corner kick that was deflected. We shot and beat the keeper but a defender was there to knock it clear. I think we had 5 shots on net all game (if you include my clearing kick that rolled into the goal mouth but the keeper had no trouble with).
DJ was being two and three-manned and we didn't really have many options for him to pass off to. Zane made a nice full-length rush to start the second half, but it didn't pan out and they countered with their first goal from outside the side of the box. It went over Kyle and curved under the bar.
Kyle said all of the shots that went in were amazing. He figured there were 20 on-net.
Goal 2 came off a free kick from 20 yards out. We had a wall but the shooter put it just past us and low into the corner of the net. No chance for Kyle.
Goal 3 was "the best shot I've ever seen," said Kyle.
Goal 4 was a double header off a corner. There wasn't much space but he threaded it through.
We'll get all our players back (Ryan, Steve, Jeff, Geoff, Justin — and Al can heal his leg) and we'll give them another go in the upcoming memorial tournament
