ChwkCityOct.25,TIE1-1
"The curse of the Tai!" Maybe Tai Palladino will have to change his name to "Wynn" before we can break this habit of 50/50 soccer. We haven't won (or lost) since he joined our team.
Beautiful day for the Beautiful Game! The field has been freshly punched and sanded, though, so it was a bit like playing beach soccer.
Lots of cards. One yellow for Justin and an early red and 3 more yellows for City.
We had a lot of time and space in the first half, using our man advantage well. Lots of little passes and support for the ball carrier — but 0-0 at the half.
From Al Berry: "First of all, let me say that the first half of the game was the best we have played..... ever!  I am very proud of the team for what they did and the fact we didn't score is irrelevant to the fact we actually played proper soccer."
Things changed after that, with City pressing from the kick-off. Soon, they had a free kick from just outside the box. They put it around our wall and just past the fingertips of Kyle, who dove to his left corner.
We had several chances, from Sitwala, Craig and Hanway — then late in the game, Ryan Long took it into the box. After a few crashes and missed clearing attempts, the ball came back to Ryan and he put it in from a tough angle.

Note the jumper. Al and Steve advise us to do this (in the line), at the precise time. Jump — and keep your toes down to maximize your coverage.

Good shot of Geoff, Taylor!
One of my faves of the day.

The offside goal, I believe. Rebound came out, then back to the shooter, who only had Kyle between him and the net.
Correct call!
