Nice night for soccer. Not too chilly and no wind or wet.
0-0 at the half, then Kenroc got a free kick from just outside the box.
Their big midfielder, Sean, put it hard and under the bar on Kyle's right. No chance.
10 minutes later, he converted a pass into the box with another nice shot.
Geoff brought along two co-workers for a try-out and Andy Incitti scored our lone goal late in the half. Rafael Moniz attempted a Hanway-like half-bicycle and almost found the mark. Both had a great touch on the ball and they were great distributers.
We were really pressing in the last minutes. Two attempts were stopped at the post by guys covering the post on corner kicks — and Garry stopped a corner kick with a bit of arm and got called. If not, he was free to hammer the tying goal.
We were missing the Ryan (and DJ) touch up front, and Daniel K wasn't able to make it. As well, Andrew O had been skiing all day and didn't quite have the usual jump. Justin was ripping up the field, making important back-checks and Al was really busting his guts to get the ball into the box.
Sitwala almost got into a dust-up with the league Pres, who knocked him down in the box. Kris drew a yellow card. (No cards for us — and no offsides.)
Kyle made a fine sliding save on Kris in the first half when he was bursting in alone.
