Woo hoo!

After 4 virtually "no show" losses, we got our first win of 2011, having been rained out in January.

There's a back-story on the officiating in this game — but the official version is that Ryan Long had an early goal denied, apparently for having the goalie contact his leg after the shot.

James got us on the board first, then Ryan Stewart (playing in his first game) doofed on a pass to the right and it brilliantly went left instead and set up DJ for the second goal. 2-0 at the half.

Ryan Long got the 3-0 goal, I believe off a Dan Klop rebound. Not long after, Johnny put in a cross to Dan, who one-timed a volley. The ball rebounded off the keeper and James put it hard off the post.

Johnny later had a great chance to shoot but his cross pass to Dan (in the 6-yard box) was determined to be offside. Dan later was 1-on-1 with the keeper but put it outside the post.

Andrew had been retaliation-fouled after the whistle (no card) in the first half and the resulting knee injury put him out for the rest of the game. The same player should have received at least 4 yellows during the game but only got one.

It was a rugged game but we held on for a 3-2 win.

On the pass, the ref determined that the receiver (Dan?) was offside. No goal.

The ball is apparently still alive, with DJ injured. Concrete got a dangerous counter-attack out of this, rather than be sporting and kick it out.
