3T02OverKenRoc
A great day for soccer, though it was supposed to be a wet one.
I believe we started with 3 spares, then got to 4 — but Tyler had to leave at the half.
KenRoc got on the board first, at about 25 minutes into the first half, on a scrambly play in the box.
Late in the half, Daniel K. ran the ball down the wing and fed it off to Darren. Darren walked into the box, deked a charging defender and moved over in front of the goal for a left-foot tap-in.
1-1 at the half.
Early in the second, Al made a hard, low shot from the top of the box. The keeper got most of it but couldn’t hold on and Zane pounced on the little rebound and knocked it in.
Zane made a nice cross over to Ryan for the third goal — and he and Andrew had near-goals later on.
Al had a chance for another shot, but put it into a pile of players that had crashed on the slightly-mushy turf.
KenRoc had some fine chances as well. One clanged off the cross bar and back out.
Another one had beaten Kyle and was heading for the line — but Justin jumped in and knocked it away, as he did last week.
Their second goal came on a long high lob from the left wing that had Kyle handcuffed. It just made it under the bar, behind Kyle.
One yellow card for KenRoc, for a slide tackle from behind that cut down Zane.
Late in the game, Tai and Andrew collided on a header. Andrew's shoulder hit Tai in the jaw and Tai went off with a chipped molar and a bit of a headache.
A great effort — and some fine pics from Willa and Deanna!
