1to4vsOSP
Well: that was our worst effort of the season — so let's learn from it and move on.
Old Settler was full-value for the win, as they worked the ball well and smothered up most of our chances in the box.
We were unlucky to not score early — and their final goal was a heap of bad luck, from Daniel A. bouncing it off me straight to the scorer, who caught Kyle out of position.
I figure with normal luck, it could have been a 3-2 loss or a tie. Geoff figures it could have been far worse.
We had 10-15 minutes late in the game where were working the ball and communicating but there were big lapses before that, along with long gaps of not talking and supporting the ball carrier. Others noted our lack of close checking, giving OSP more time and space to work in.
D.J. was the last to touch the ball before OSP own-goaled it. It was pretty funny looking, with 2 d-men tangled in the net afterwards.
Al was missing, nursing an injury, and 5 other players were away. Geoff was off for a game from the red card.
One yellow for Tyler, for getting in a shoving match. (That's 2 for the season. 3=1 game suspension. 5=3 games.)
Words from DJ: "We shoulda had a few more. We played awesome towards the end of the game but we need more passing through the midfield. That's what created our chances. Alcos u did a great job making give-and-goes. Midfield keep in mind that's what needed to make scoring chances." | Date(s): Nov. 6, 2010. Album by Barry Stewart.
