Scout Troop 160 & USS COBIA SS-245
1. Scout Troop 160 & USS COBIA SS-245  (February 16-17, 2008)
This album contains images of Troop 160's overnighter on the US Navy's WWII Gato-class submarine USS COBIA SS-245 moored on the Manitowoc River at the Wisconsin Maritime Museum in Manitowoc, WI. The USS COBIA is on loan to the museum and is at 90% readiness. It was used for training by the Naval Station Great Lakes in Waukegan, IL. A number of control panels have been covered with plexiglass and valve handles removed. Both radar systems are functional, but must be kept secure to avoid conflicts with the Chicago Air Route Traffic Control Center in Aurora, IL, which is 200 miles south of Manitowoc.
