1. Inland M1 Carbine from CMP  (Updated: December 22, 2009)
This album contains images of my Inland M1 Carbine built from a barreled action (manufactured  in 1944) I received on March 26, 2006 from the Civilian Marksmanship Program's rifle sales.

The semi-automatic M1 Carbine was designed as a support weapon and is less powerful than an M1 Garand. The ammunition, .30 Carbine, is a .308 caliber modification of the .32 Winchester Self-Loading rifle cartridge of 1906.

The M1 Carbine was used extensively in WWII and the Korean War. It was also used during the opening years of the Vietnam War in the M2 revision that had select fire semi-automatic/automatic capability with a 30-round magazine. The M1/M2 Carbine was eventually replaced by the M16.
