The first Viking view of the Mars face.   Richard Hoagland claims this Face on Mars lies within a complex of geometrically aligned pyramids and other structures that mirror the pyramids here on Earth at Giza.  Hoagland's theories can be found in more detail at enterprisemission.com

Ancient Iran Face
Photographed from the air in the 1930s, this ancient  face found in Iran bears similarities to the Mars face.

The monolithic size and construction of the base are similar.  The Iran face dates back to thousands of years BC, to the time when the Sumerians populated this area.

Some researchers  (Sitchen)  have put forth the theory that the Earth was visited by ETs during this period who wielded huge cultural influences on civilization.

Possibly the same cultural influences are responsible for the Face on Mars as well as the face in Iran.

Another Mars Face?
The base and shape of this form are similar in some respects to the famous Mars Face.  Possibly this is another face showing more weathering.  Discovered by MJ Moore.

New Shot of the Face
A more recent view of the Mars Face from Nasa/jpl.

This version has generated  controversy as some researchers are claiming the image was altered by NASA to make it appear less face-like.

The "CatBox" Mars Face
This version of the face released by JPL became very controversial among Mars Image researchers as many felt that the image data had been artificially manipulated to make The Mars Face appear less face-like.  The image appears to have been refiltered, flattened and skewed.

This infamous version has become  known as the"CatBox" Mars Face.

Enterprise Mission Face
Rectified version by Richard Hoagland.  Hoagland's theory is that the face is meant to be a split-glyph, half hominid and half leonid.

I have found other faces on Mars that have this split-glyph theme. A split / glyph face can be seen in image #38, the" See/Say No Evil" Face.  There is a small split / glyph face located under the top red arrow.

The Mayan culture has a history of creating split-glyph masks and carvings in stone.  Some researchers have speculated that the Mayans originally migrated to Earth from Mars.

Ghoul and King face
Best Viewed with enlargement.
Two faces melded together, a common theme in Martian art.  A ghoulish grinning face with a regal crowned head behind it.

A political comment perhaps?

The "See / Say No Evil" Face
I find this complex and detailed  face especially fascinating.   Worked into it's structure are many smaller areas of art,
layering the face with artistic context and meaning.

The very top arrow points out a small split/glyph face (located approx. between the brows).  Adjacent to the second arrow a fist appears to be pressing into the eye socket hence the "see no evil".  The pair of arrows further down point out the partially opened mouth. Protruding out of the mouth is a bifurcrated or folded tongue that appears to be tied with something.  Hence the "say no evil".

There are several areas surrounding this face that look artificial.  A worm tunnel/transportation tube can be seen running along the perimeter of the upper cheek line.  Additionally there are areas that border the cheek that appear to have alpha-numeric markings of some type.
