1 Step 1 Begin with a 12x12 cardstock of your choice. Cut down to 9-/12" x 5-1/2". (You will be able to make 2 cards out of a 12x12 cardstock).
| 2 Step 2 Now score lengthwise at 3", 6", and 9". You will have 4 sections, each 3" wide, except for the last peice, which is just a flap.
| 3 Step 3 Use a 1-1/2" square punch and a 1-1-3/8" circle punch for this step. Punch 1/2 a square on the top and bottom of the left column. Punch 1/2 a circle on the top 3rd column from the left (small flap is the 4th column). When you hold it up to look at, your card stock should look just like the one in the photo.
| 4 Step 4 Now you need 1" of a plastic bag or in this demo - I used one of my plastic card holders. This is going to be the "belt" to make this baby work.
| 5 Step 5 Now, cut one side of the seam off.
|
 6 Step 6 Now cut 1" off.
| 7 Step 7 Wrap the 1" strip of plastic around the slots that you made with the square punch. adhere the plastics together - but NOT to the cardstock. It should be able to spin freely. Do Not Wrap TOO TIGHT - and Do Not Wrap TOO LOOSE!!! It has to be JUST RIGHT!!! I used double stick tape for adhesives.
| 8 Step 8 Cut the card that will be coming out from the left of your pull out. Cut to 2-3/4" x 4". Then decorate. I printed a pic of my boyz, and printed them in "sephia" form. Used blue cardstock for the backing. The backing was the size of 2-3/4" x 4".
| 9 Step 9 Cut the card that will be coming out the right of your pull out. Decorate in coordinating colors.
| 10 Step 10 Don't forget the front (middle) of your card. I used the same sized card to make the middle part. (2-3/4" x 4").
|
11 Step 11 Okay, here's where your trick happens. The card that is going to come out on the left will be adhered underneath the main holder - and adhered only to the plastic (decorated side faced down), but between the columns. Make sense? Hope So. See pic - it's easier to see than explain.
| 12 Step 12 Now, the card that is going to come out on the right side is going to be adhered to the right (decordated side faced down) but on the TOP part of the plastic. Picture explains better.
| 13 Step 13 Now, you can complete your card by folding them on the scores, and creating a finished card looking like this when closed...
| 14 Step 14 And like this when "pulled" out. To close, you need to "push" the card on your right to go in. Thus calling it a "push-pull card". "Thank you so much! It..." "Thank You! This is go..." "I'm from Costa Rica, ..." View Comments...
