MOAB TRIP 2005 (April 9, 2005)| Moab Utah, site of the annual rock crawling and trailride trip by Dodgers from everywhere. (In this case only two...Digger Dan Garrett and Myself) Plus Russ Erickson with his slightly modified Scout, and a few Red-Rock Jeepers! I can only assume that we are out doing the other Dodgers that had shown up in the past..they missed out on a GREAT run! I had my 1942 Dodge WC-63 1 1/2 ton 6x6 truck and Digger had his trusty 1952 Dodge M-37 3/4 ton truck. Our trucks were stock except for the lock-right locking differentials I had installed in the two rear axles of the 6x6 and the locker in Digger's rear axle. Plus, our tires are not the original military issue. I run Buckshot Radial Mudders and Digger had some very used 16.5 diameter Hummer tires and custom rims on his rig. Other than that, the trucks have the original 6 cylinder motors and drive trains! The stock Braden MU-2 winch on the 6x6 was used a bit to extricate ourselves as well as pull a dead Jeep Cherokee out of the mire! The first trail run we made was the infamous Pritchett canyon trail..Digger and I made it all the way through, unfortunately due to excitement of the moment..my digital camera was lost somewhere along the trail! I hope someone out there can send some pictures for posting. I also pulled a full size Jeep Cherokee ( with damaged transmission) through the last four obstacles and towed it the 32+ miles back to town (19 miles on rough trail!) It is also believed that I am the first person to drive a 6x6 through the Pritchett Canyon, Upper and lower Golden Spike, Rusty Nail, and Gold Bar Rim trails! I broke only one axle on the 6x6 the first day! (Quickly replaced with spare on hand) And Digger broke the short rear axle on Hell's Gateway (A new prtion of the Hell's Revenge trail) Otherwise no other problems were incurred with the vintage Dodges! Russ' Scout did superb! As well as the others from the Jeep group! A great time was had by all!! So far all I have posted are the pictures Digger and I shot with Digger's camera. 12-01-05 I had to close the guestbook due to spammers, sorry! |

MOAB TRIP..FALL 2004 (November 14, 2004)| Well, It was that time of the year again...Moab beckoned...So Digger and I went! I had the 1942 Dodge WC-63/PW Dump Truck 6x6, and Digger had a borrowed 'souped-up' Jeep CJ-6! We met up with Russ and Denise from Evanston, WY., Mac and his Dad from Texas, and Devon Parsons and his wife from Utah. No one else showed up! So all I can say is they missed out on some fun! 12-01-05 I had to close the guestbook due to spammers, sorry! |

MOVING AN ANTIQUE PIPE ORGAN! (September 9, 2004)| A good friend recently purchased an antique Moller 3/12 theatre pipe organ! (Originally installed in the lobby of the San Francisco Fox theatre in 1928) I was asked to help remove and transport it to storage so the new owner can build a room large enough to house this historic item! We actually played the organ before starting removal! It was removed from the Fox in 1963 and later installed in the home of Hal Wilmunder in Sacramento CA., untill Wendell Jacob of Davis Cal. purchased it and we then removed it. Wendell is the third owner of the organ since it's manufacture! I have had little prior experience with a device such as this, so it was quite a learning experience!! And quite a lot of work!! The original work time was estimated at 5-7 days, well, after 14 days we had the last piece moved!! 12-01-05 I had to close the guestbook due to spammers, sorry! |

Jarbidge Outhouse Trip!! (October 18, 2003)Myself, Daughter Molly, Digger Dan & Linda Garrett, Niall Irish, and Ken & Shari Sterrett ventured to Jarbidge to do our part in keeping county road #748 OPEN!! We had many dignitaries on hand, a Nevada State Assemblyman, an Elko County Commissioner, and many members of the infamous "Jarbidge Shovel Brigade" We drove once again to the end of the road, only to find the outhouse was locked up!! It was a beautiful day! The trip went very well, in fact, the road has had so much traffic on it since we saw it in June, that it only took us 20 minutes to get to the end!! We had only two trucks, My 1952 B3PW, and Digger's M-37. Nial did not bring his M-37, nor Ken bring his WM300 (It was not ready yet) We met lots of great folks! The lamb BBQ was fantastick!! In preperation for this trip, I spent my 47th birthday helping Ken Sterrett start assembling his truck, WE must be getting rusty as we both overlooked a few very obvious snafus that made the job way more interesting than it should have been!!! 12-01-05 I had to close the guestbook due to spammers, sorry! |

State Auburn, Alive & Well! (January 9, 2002)| In memory of my old friend, Guy K. Eriksen, 35mm film projection equipment was re-installed in the State Theatre, 985 Lincoln Way, Auburn, California. It was one of Guy's wishes upon death to see that the State could exhibit film! I was pleased to be a pert of this event. Guy would be proud! He had operated projectors at the State many times over the years. In fact, I had assisted Guy on two occaisions in the last five years installing automated projecrtors at the State, however, they were removed in november 2008 by their owner, leaving the State without film equipment! Thanks to the efforts of the current owners and operators, the Auburn Placer Performng Arts Council, and the Estate of Guy Eriksen, equipment was re-installed so the grand old State could once again entertain people with film! |
