22 August 2013. Mock Trams in Hay Street Mall Perth, to illustrate what will be lost if the proposed light rail enters the Mall which is only 16m wide.

22 August 2013. No station is proposed in the Mall which means through traffic at speed and no benefit to retailers, shoppers or pedestrians who will have to be on full alert at all times for passing trams.

22 August 2013. Alfresco opportunities in Hay Street Mall will be lost. Catenary structure would impair views of treasured icons such as London Court.

22 August 2013. All street planting, street art, sculpture, street performances and stall opportunities in Hay Street Mall will be lost. Malls are for pedestrians, not for traffic!

22 August 2013. No Trees, No Shade, No Seating when all these facilities are removed for Tram tracks. Keep the Trams out of the Hay Street Mall...

22 August 2013. Keep the Mall for pedestrian use only. In busy times, it is already packed with people and already has insufficient seating at lunch time. The Mall needs more trees and seats, not passing Trams...

Vanishing Footpath

After receiving this photo, the Council have cleared the overgrown shrubbery to reveal the footpath.

Fragile Power Pole
16 February 2013.
The notice on the pole says it has been treated for termites, but I never feel safe walking past the crumbling wood. Sent this photo to the power company, and they quickly replaced the pole and cross-beams.

Chester caught and killed this Rat
13 February 2013.
Rats have become a common problem in this area.  Chester dived in between my pot plants, caught and killed this Rat!

A Majestic Landmark
5 February 2013.
This Norfolk Pine stood proud and tall in the next street. It served as a roost and nesting place for local birds. I have watched the Peregrine Falcon feeding chicks in a nest at the very top. New owners of the property had the tree removed today -- another landmark gone forever!
