Dragoncon 2005 Photos from DragonCon 2005, in Atlanta GA. One of the biggest sci-fi/fantasy cons in the world, attracting fans of just about any given show, film, or book you can think of from all over the world to come and enjoy more programming tracks than one person could possibly attend, or to show off some absolutely incredible costuming talents. My first really big con was DC04, and I decided that I would do my very best to make it an annual trip. Once again, probably the coolest thing I've done all year. If you have only enough time and money for one big convention a year, go to DragonCon - you will not be disappointed.
Please note - while I didn't get pictures of the raciest costumes (DragonCon can be a VERY adult convention, especially on weekend nights!), I do have a few that some might find objectionable, especially on Sunday night, when the "Spattle in Atlantle" contest was held. Proceed with caution.
PS - If you recognize yourself in any of my pics, please email me and I'll include your name in my descriptions. If you want copies, I'm pretty sure I have things set so you can grab the original-sized pics straight from here; if not, please email me and I'll send you copies. If you recognize me and/or Lori from any pics you took at DC, please email me so I can get copies from you for my "Other Peoples' Pictures" folder. Date(s): September 1-5, 2005. 1 - 3 of 3 Total. Other Peoples' Pictures :) (September 2-5, 2005)| Pictures from DC05 which I got from other people, of course. I'll do my best to keep them credited properly - if you see one of yours which is improperly credited, or is uncredited, let me know and I'll fix it. |

DC05 Saturday and Sunday (September 3-4, 2005)| The weekend is where things REALLY happen at DragonCon. Saturday morning is the parade, where hundreds of costumers march from Woodruff Park to the convention 4 blocks away, and Atlanta's residents turn out to line the streets along the way, taking photos and showing their appreciation for the marchers. Saturday afternoon is the Star Wars Costume Contest, which I did not attend this year (I hear the Wookies won - probably the smart thing for the judges to have done...), and that evening is the Dawn costume contest. On Sunday, the main attraction is the Masquerade, shown in one of the main ballrooms and live on DragonCon TV. On both evenings, the REAL place to be is in the bar of the Hyatt, where all the costumers come to show off. Due to an unfortunate incident earlier in the day, security restricted photos from being taken in the Hyatt bar before midnight on Saturday (a questionable decision, IMO), but things were back to "normal" on Sunday. |

DC05 Thursday and Friday (September 1-2, 2005)| These pictures, in no particular order, were taken on Thursday and Friday of DC05. People started showing up and getting into costume Thursday afternoon, and by the evening there were a fair number of costumes walking around. Friday was the official start of the con, and was when things really started happening. |
