Travels of Flat Bob
March 27 - April 24, 2010

This album is the result of a school project for Julian, the granson of Sue's first cousin Janet Watson. In the spirit of "Flat Stanley", Julian mailed "Flat Bob" to us and we were to document his travels before mailing him back. The photos here document Flat Bob's adventures in Washington state. Click on the links (Blue Text) in the photo descriptions to find out where Flat Bob travelled.

For a minute, Flat Bob thought he was back in Pa Evan told him it was just a park in Bothell that was named after Bothell's first postmaster.  You can find William Penn Park Click Here to see the park on Google Maps. Evan and Parker live near the park

After nearly being eaten by a salmon earlier, Flat Bob was a little apprehensive about visiting the Fremont Troll  But when he found it was only a statue he was happy to go up to it.  It is a little scary when you see it grabbing a VW bug like that.  The Fremont Troll lives under the Aurora Bridge here.

Very close to the Fremont Troll is the "Waiting for the Interurban" statue. It's a tradition to decorate the statue with all kinds of funny clothing and paraphernalia.  Here someone has put a "Happy Birthday" sign and if you look close you will see a fake mustache and a necktie on one of the statues.  The statue is found here.

For his final stop in Washington, Flat Bob visited the Seattle Center and got this view of the International Fountain and the Space Needle.  If you look closely you can see a rainbow in the spray from the fountain.
