Welcome to Buckhorn Hunting Terriers! I am a avid hunter who raises a small number of Decker Hunting Terriers for my personal use as well as for other hunters who are looking for a superior hunting dog. My philosophy is to breed the very best quality Decker Hunting Terriers possible that are both genetically sound and possess inherited natural hunting ability. All my dogs are my personal hunting companions and must be proven hunters used in the field for deer, raccoon, squirrel and all types of quarry before ever being considered for breeding. Because of these uncompromising standards, the type of hunting terrier you will find at Buckhorn Hunting Terriers will possess the attributes I want to emphasize, a genetically sound dog that has tremendous inherited hunting ability, the tenacity, drive, and grit to hunt all types of game that will appeal to the most serious hunter.

Hunting with Terriers (January 2, 2009)
Having closely observed most all breeds of hunting dogs for years, it is my view that the Decker Hunting Terrier surpasses any other hunting breed as a “all around hunting dog”. The breed is a superior hunter that possesses the inherited natural hunting ability, tenacity, desire and intuition to find game unlike any other hunting dog breed. If you are a serious hunter and are looking for a superior “all around hunting dog” then the Decker Hunting Terrier may be for you. Here are some pictures of the breed in action.
