Rat Terriers

This folder has ablums of all of my Rat Teriers. Here you can see photos of me and my fur babies doing things together. I like to show them off in the show ring as well as agility and maybe even give Mr. Squirrel a run for his money. I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I enjoy being with my kids.

It also calms nerves, gives confidence, helps to regain memory loss. It is nicknamed the “happy stone” because it is said that Amber helps with depression.

Captain Benjamin Franklin "Hawkeye" Pierce is a fictional character and lead protagonist in the M*A*S*H novels, film, and television series. Pierce’s nickname of “Hawkeye” was given to him by his father. It comes from the novel The Last of the Mohicans, which Pierce claimed was "the only book my old man ever read." In an episode of the TV series in which Hawkeye believed himself to be in mortal danger due to heavy enemy shelling, he made out a will and left Colonel Sherman T. Potter (whom Hawkeye stated was like a father) the edition of The Last of the Mohicans that his father had given him. “It was his favorite book,” Hawkeye wrote in the will.

In the final episode of season 11, the 4077th staff began assembling a time capsule of mementos from their time in Korea, with Hawkeye putting in four items. The first was a chopper's broken fan belt; its pilot had taken all night to fly a wounded soldier into camp, since the engine kept overheating. Hawkeye said that although no one had noticed the pilot while he was there, it would be nice for someone in the future to know that he had made a difference. The second item was the teddy bear left behind by Radar when he was discharged, to stand for the soldiers who came to Korea as boys and went home as men. The third item was a fishing lure that belonged to Henry Blake, to stand for the soldiers who never made it home. The Final item was a dress, to stand for the women the soldiers left behind.

Corporal “Radar” O’Reilly is a fictional character in the M*A*S*H novels, the film, the television series, the television pilot, W*A*L*T*E*R, and two episodes of the series, After MASH. He seemed to have extra-sensory perception, appearing at his commander's side before being called and finishing his sentences. He also had exceptionally good hearing, able to hear incoming helicopters before anyone else. It was these abilities that earned him the nickname "Radar." The series' final nod to Radar came in the penultimate episode of the series, "As Time Goes By", when his iconic teddy bear was included in a time capsule of the 4077th's instigated by Hot Lips, which Hawkeye says is a symbol of those who "came as boys and went home as men."

The hurricane of September 8, 1900 that destroyed most of Galveston Island, southeast of Katy, also destroyed most of the buildings in Katy.  The storm had such a dramatic affect on the town that it stands out in memory and so people talk of "before" and "after" the storm.

Shortly after I moved into my new house, Hurricane Ike hit Galveston, destroying much of the island and causing damage around southeast Texas, including Katy.  My house sustained some damage.  The move also was quite chaotic, as my Dad became very ill about the same time.  While moving myself, I was also moving my parents to Katy and selling their home.  So, Bree became the gentle (YEAH ... RIGHT) breeze "After The Storm".

Currently training to perfect the role as a spoiled queen.

I signed us up for beginning obedience as well as conformation classes.  Even though Mini was not a conformation dog, I thought I would learn by showing her.  I planned her debut at the Hutto show in January 2006.  I came home from work one Friday in December 2005 to find Mini hopping with one hind leg up.  I took her to my vet, then to an orthopedic vet.  Both confirmed that she had luxating patellas.  Her right leg was a grade 3 and her left a grade 2.  That ended her chances in conformation.  She had surgery on both legs on January 31, 2006 and another on her right leg March 3, 2006 to remove scar tissue.  She underwent one more minor surger on her left leg in August of 2006 to remove a pin.  At that time, she was released to return to agility training.  In addition to the structural issues, Mini also has many emotional issues, which her behaviorist vet says were inherited.  All of her trainers say she is extemely intelligent.  She LOVES training.  But, due to her emotional issues, I had to retire her.  She cannot handle the stress of long classes and gets extremely upset if she isn't perfect.  We will do light training at home just to keep her happy.  I have learned the importance of health testing and very careful breeding by owning Mini.
