The Wild Ride is a non-sanctioned rodeo event where the riders dress up in crazy costumes and ride bucking broncs for eight seconds. Points are awarded for the best ride AND craziest costume. Eight of the top PRCA contestants compete for the bragging rights (and the prize which is usually a new saddle and a cash pot). A Rodeo Run is a slang term coined by Daddy Anthony describing a trip that would be quick on the turnaround. Many dogs shows and agility trials are done in this manner!

Why is it that Dodie always in a play bow?
Could it be that she LOVES life and playing is a huge part of happiness? Sounds like she knows the secret to living.

Dodie is a wild woman with a great smile...
She brightens every heart she meets.

Enlarge photo 11

Not only does she have a heart of pure gold...
she is beautiful to look at, too.

Enlarge photo 12

It's nearly impossible to get Dodie to stand still...
She's much too busy to pose!

Enlarge photo 13
13
Something captured Dodie's attention...
She held still (without being prompted) for a whole 15 seconds!

She's such a HAPPY girl. I just love this rotten girl!

I can't wait to get her in the licensed classes!

Rodeo Dodie is 5.5 months old.
We went to her last non-licensed conformation shows last Saturday. She did great, earning two BOB's. She just does better and better each time she enters the ring. She's going to be a FUN one to show!

My Rodey is 4.5 months old.
She is tall and gangly, but she has beautiful angles and nice mass even in her teenage stage.

Looks like she is calico-ing like her mama Bama.
Yes, another calico at COHills.

Enlarge photo 24

Such a pretty girl...
She's as pretty inside as she is outside. She just wiggles and smiles all the time.

Enlarge photo 25
25
Such a pretty front.
I really love this girl's head. She's gonna be a big kid, but I think she has tons to offer my breeding program.

Enlarge photo 26

This baby is an absolute charmer.
She mixes well with the fur kids and LOVES attention from people.

Whew! Being cute is hard work!

Baby Rodeo managed to escape her collar...
But now you can see her pretty length of neck.

Rodeo fell into the lake last weekend.
This weekend, she decided she was going to be pretty cautious. After Riccy gave her the thumbs up, Rodeo was fine.

The Rodeo is home!
She's just as wonderful as I'd hoped.

She's confident,
with a splash of caution tossed in for good measure. The rest of the pack has just accepted her as one of them!

And of course...
Any time one of the kids is introduced to the pier, they invariably fall in the first time.

Nice moderate angles on this girl...great bone - a little on the heavier side of moderate but not too much. She has a beautiful head. Her ear set a bit more rounded at the tip, but still nicely placed on her head.

Rodeo
She has the appearance of being more square, but we measured her and she is not. She has a sweet, outgoing personality... a little sound sensitive, but she is able to overcome and come back with a wiggly tail and a true terrier curiosity.

Here is Rodeo at 6 weeks!
Doesn't she look like her daddy just a little? Rodeo weighed in at 3 pounds 15 1/2 ounces today.

She's an outgoing, wiggly, sweet, kind pup. She's bold and fearless...but has a healthy respect for what is new and doesn't just barge in

Here's Rodeo...
4 weeks old and just all that.  Rodeo weighed in at 2 pounds 6 ounces...and she is just sweet.

Today was her first time outside. She had a moment of hesitation... but then she was out and about, checking out her surroundings. She tests the waters before diving in. But once she's there she calls out "COME ON IN...THE WATER IS FINE!"

Move on out there, Rodeo!
Notice all her ticking. She not only has black ticking, but a few spots of tan as well.  I think this one will have her daddy's head!

Rodeo weighed in at...

Little Rodeo weighed in at...
1 pound 3 1/2 ounces.  She is showing ticking in all her white. She's a very nice mix of both her Bama and Who.  She enjoys laying on her back and getting belly scratches.  She is nice and easy to do toenails on.

The WILD RIDE!
Texas In 1880 - Pat Green

Written by Radney Foster.

I can hear the wind whisper my name.
Tellin’ me it’s time to head out again.
My horses are trailered and the lights are shut down,
An' I’m long overdue for headin’ outta town.

Got a fever that they call the rodeo.
Just enough winnin' to make the next show.
Sometimes you make eight, sometimes you hit dirt.
Go on, pin another number to the back of my shirt

And I’ll ride that pony fast,
Like a cowboy from the past.
Be young and wild and free,
Like Texas in 1880.
Just like Texas in 1880.

Ah, from Phoenix to Tulsa to the Astro Dome;
New York City down to San Antone;
There’s boys that are ridin’ for legendary fame,
And our money’s all gone but we still ride the same.

Our hearts'll get broken, and our heads'll get busted.
But we’ll always believe the things that we trusted.
There’ll be those nights when glory comes round,
And we’l...
