Just some of the performers who have given their time and talent to VSL over the last fabulous twelve months
The good looking guy between AlanL and Kenny is Malcolm. Over the last year he has taken hundreds of photos and hours of video footage - all at his own expense - yet we did not have a single pic of him. We have now! - (and so have the Police who asked us to take it)
I was still suffering with a bad back ....but it looks as if AlanL was feeling himself...again
June and Jen present the Two Alan's with surprise special birthday cake, gifts and cards.
Colin the Orchestra inspects the cake so he can tell Big Jim (who is on holiday) what he missed - hee hee!
June, Don, Colin and Jen. Colin's seem to have been there a long time - I wonder where his other hand is?
And now on with the music with Colin I, Mark and BillyB who have shown over the last twelve months what brilliant musicians they are ...
... managing to sound good no matter who plays lead.
Brian drew the short straw this month and was the first solo act on stage
.....and displaying some "nifty" Stones moves in Not Fade Away.
... what do you think of this girls .....
... Thats it .... the back has gone ..I warned him ....
It was great to see DaveT back again and showing his versatility on "Let the Heartaches begin" ....
..... before returning later in the evening to rock with Kenny and the lads.
Next up was AlanB who had travelled all the way from Birmingham to be with us. Alan kicked off with "Of all the girls I've loved before"
Which gave us an opportunity to try our new camera which can actually photograph thought patterns ....
Alan then gave us an excellent instrumental version of "Runaway" Great guy - beautiful guitar - beautiful music .. what more can you say.
Another shot from our ThoughtCam - the camera that never lies. This time it is Kenny Paula and AlanW's turn
It was good to see Davy back again ...
... and this time he brought Gavin ... all the way from Italy.
This guy has everything ..youth .. sun tan ...
... fantastic voice ... charisma ..
...good looks ....
Some of the girls say he is even better looking than me ...
.... BUT I'M NOT BITTER!!!
It was great to see a couple of acoustic performers on stage ...Leo was back ...
... as good as ever.
Time for Robin to give a couple of songs ...
I wonder what he is thinking about .....
He has full vocal support from Kenny and AlanL
Bill on Bass hiding at the back of the stage
Here's a canny old bat ...
One of the things I like about VSL is the way you can form an "instant" group and just play ...
Which is exactly what happened here ... with BillyB, AlanB, AlanL BrianJ and ColinW
BrianJ took Lead guitar ... AlanB took lead vocal and away they went.... brilliant
Another one of the things I like about VSL is ........
"The Bairns" ..or to give them their real name ...The Stray Dogs
We could not let Angie sing last month ........ some of the lads still hadn't calmed down enough from the month before ....
... but together with Dave on guitar ....
Mark on bass ....and ...
.. Kevin on drums (hidden as usual but who is complaining) ... they really rocked us this time.
And talking of rocking ... Here is our Paula ...who, it is said, recently turned down an offer from Simon Cowell ... she said the grass was too wet.
She was in a more sombre mood than usual this evening .......and decided to give the old Casuals number "Jezamine" an airing
.. proving once again that she can do justice to any type of song.
Mike Charlie and ...
... Tim were back again...
...and they even brought a couple of mates ...
... well done lads that is what we like to see.
AlanL, Mark, BillyB, and ColinW showed just what a depth of musical talent we have by supporting .....
.. clubland superstar Marie on completely unrehearsed - but absolutely sensational ...
... versions of Summertime followed by River Deep Mountain High
Kenny even brought his brother .. Lenny ... who plays drums ...
They were joined by Davy ...from hit "Sad and Lonely" recordists Garden Odysey Enterprise
... Dave Eckard who played with Kenny in New September ...
... and Colin "the Orchestra" Woodland who played with top Sixties group the Del 5 ..
And if that was not enough Kenny then finished the night ..
... joined by Dave Turnbull from the Downbeats and Billy Baker from the Playboys
