There is one driveway coming onto the property
that splits in a "Y", the right side comes
down to the 2 story house.

The front of the 2 story house, driveway on the left. The owner wants to remodel this house,
David will be helping with that
project.

Both the houses on the property were
Sears Roebuck kit houses, purchased around 1958, they are really sturdy.

The back of the single story house,
I don't know why I didn't take a pic of the front.
It's really cute and very roomy.

Actually, this is the front of the
one story house
taken from up on the property a bit.

To the right of the one story house,
shows the property going up the hill.
We hiked way up there on Sunday,
and never got beyond the junk. We don't
know how Mr. Finn carried all the
stuff up there, he must have been a lot younger
and/or had a lot of help.

To David's right is the west creek.

The creek on the west side of the property. Unfortunately dries up
in the summer.

Resident kitty boy and his brother.
Super cats, very friendly, followed us
all over the property waiting
for someone to pick them up for
hugs and kisses. Of course I obliged
them every chance I got.

This guy didn't show up until Sunday
but really made up for lost time
getting attention, he's so cute.

Now that we're moved in I've taken
on the job of giving this cat a
good home. This wonderful boy we
temporarily call "No-No," 'cause
when he's in the house I'm
repeatedly saying "no-no" to him
and our house cats when they
start growling at each other.
He comes in the house at night now
and is living a much better life
with us. An absolutely wonderful
boy.

Purr boy, this guy's adorable, his tactic
is to drop and roll at your feet
when he's around you really have to
watch that you don't get tripped up.

Several months after moving in
this boy was gone longer than
usual. When he didn't show up
for quite some time for his
dinner I really got worried.
Then David found his little
body in one of the out buildings,
he apparently went in, laid down
and died. We're very sad, and his
brother really misses him.

Purr boy, he looks so much like my Snowy,
I couldn't get enough cuddling from him.

RIP beauty wish you had been able
to stay with us.

Purr boy patiently waiting for us to finish
with our talking and looking around.
Wherever we went, so did he.

I think these boys get lonely, I don't
know how much attention they were
getting from the previous caretaker.
They won't have to worry about attention
when we move in!

So sorry he's gone, I didn't
get enough time to properly
spoil him.

the west creek, right below

This is the stone milking parlor,
very old building. It would be
fascinating inside if it weren't
full of junk, but sometimes that
junk turns into treasures.

Little stalls for the cows to stand in,
and other appropriate architecture,
very cool.

In February of this year (2011),
San Diego had quite a bit of snow,
at least at elevation,
this area is about 4000 feet.

Nice shot of the 2 houses.

John Finn died in May of 2010,
unfortunately when his family
removed everything they wanted
from the ranch they left this guy
behind.

He lives in solitude, staying under
the one story
house most of the time.
I'm not sure who fed him before
the current owner bought the place. He hired a caretaker so the
dog and cats were at least fed.

He's reclusive but I'll sure do
what I can to encourage him to
come out and get loved again,
he's been in mourning for a long time.

When we came to look at the property
I only got a quick glimpse of him,
he wouldn't come out of his
hiding place under the house.

Wonder what his name is.

Thanks to the friends
that helped us move,
couldn't have done it
without you.

Thanks to these three great
friends, I was able to get
to our new home without TOO
much stress.

Rick, Joan and Chris - this is
what completely giving friends
look like.

Rick drove a rented van carrying
12 chickens, 2 adult dogs, 8 puppies,
water plants and me.

Chris drove a U-Haul truck
carrying roses, I have no
idea as to how many but a lot.

David having already made 2 trips,
left San Jose the day before us
with another load.

He was there waiting for us when
we rolled in about 4:00 am on
Saturday, July 2.

It took Rick, Joan and I, 12 hours
to make the trip, stopping for
puppy potty breaks and leg stretching
breaks/potty breaks for us.
