How fun is this? Yep - one new experience after another, from torrential high desert thunder storms to bees, and more.

1 Here it comes!! A thunderstorm that lasted about 30 minutes, at some times we had zero visibility from the front porch.

2 My poor roses aren't going to like this!!
3 A river runs through my roses!!

5 Water rushing through the west side creek, from our house down to where it joins the east side creek.

7 East creek heading to meet the west side creek.
8 Facing the property, this driveway is on the right side, water over the driveway.

15 BEEEEEEEEEEEZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!!!!!
Apparently, a huge swarm of bees had settled into the two story house many years ago. Consequently, it was dangerous to operate the tractor anywhere near and was going to be a major issue when time came to remodel the house.
So - we hired a "bee guy," he did his thing and the numbers diminished. But, the bees were still here. So, he came back again, sprayed, but the bees were still here.
So, David bought a bunch of poison and pretty much on a daily basis sprayed the holes in the wall, stuffed the holes and FINALLY, no more bees.
The fun now is when we take the wall apart and see what's inside. There will be honey, that's a given, but it will be very interesting to see the results of repeated spraying.
No, don't worry, we won't eat the honey!

21 It's fun to pull up a chair and watch the dramatic formations change almost by the second.

23 Ah yes, close encounters of the Scorpion kind.
I have such great cats, I'm sure they just wore him out, when I found him he was no longer with us.
Packaged him up to show my grandkids, Miles took him to school for show and tell, apparently the teachers weren't real pleased about it!

25 I was pretty sure if we put bird food out the birds would come, and so they did.

33 Hummingbirds weren't the only ones to show up. These guys now have about 5 feeders all around the house, I love watching them.
There's seeds, etc., on many of the bush varieties but basically I think this area is pretty barren pickins' for these guys - not any more.
