........like an abscessed tooth - aching to be pulled!

Nice design work! The fuel pump needs to come off to get to the engine mount bolt.

Even IF one had the patience to somehow remove the left bolt on the pump.....there is not enough room to slide the pump out of the block! It hits the frame mount.

A clean slate.....so to speak.

Frame extension weighs 5lb. 9oz.
Cross member weighs 6lb. 15oz.
Stock cross member weighs 14lb.
Not a huge weight savings, but  clearance for the exhaust system is great.

LMAO at the shipping container, but - it's inexpensive and functional!!

This is my brother's engine....396, numbers matching to his '67 El Camino. He was good enough to 'loan' it to me when my 454 turned out to be unusable as it was.

The upper radiator hose is for a V8 Malibu....trimmed for length.
Enlarge photo 44enlarge 161KB, 1024x682
44
The hose cut and spliced together. Not real pretty, but better than a universal/corrugated hose....imo. And this piece really makes draining the radiator a piece of cake.

1976 Caprice - all V8 use this pump.
Part# 6012. This pump has both the mounting bolt at 6:00, and the return line facing in the correct direction.
