The Puppy's pages!
The Puppies are here! They arrived right on their due date, February 21, 2007.
We welcomed 6 beautiful and healthy puppies into this world. Venie is being a super mom!
3/3-4/07 The pups are 10 days old and doing VERY well! All of them have more than doubled in size and are now 15.5-17 ounces. The pups got their first bath and had their nails clipped for the first time.
3/10/07 All of the pups eyes are open and their ears are opening. This next week the pups will be given their first meal of puppy food mush.
3/13/07 Puppies got their first meal tonight! Tee, Marc, and Voren LOVED it - Hero did fairly well - and Jewel and Sonny didn't care for it, at all. :) Pictures are in the Group Shots album.
3/17/07 Puppies are walking and playing and barking now!!!
They are eating their mush and getting weaned off of mom. Their puppy teeth are just starting to come in - we can feel them when the pups nibble on our fingers. :)
3/28/07 The pups are 5 weeks old today! We were busy this past weekend visiting with all of the new potential puppy owners! We had a great time! The pups went outside on Tuesday afternoon to experience the outside world and the grass for the first time.
3/30/07 The pups went outside again today, and also had outfits on for the first time.
4/7/07 We've started some table stacking activities. It's so hard to believe that they're 6 weeks old already!
4/13/07 We personality tested the pups and are beginning the conformation evaluations to pick the ones for the breed/show homes. The pups are more outgoing, play rougher, stay up longer between naps and are down to 3 feedings a day.
4/14/07 We have natural and table stacked pics of each pup, as well as their current weight, as of today.
4/20/07 The pups had a very busy week. They received their first booster shot vaccination. Today they visited Jakob's classroom and had a great time with the kids! They also got to play outside for a little while. A few pics from school and outside are in the Group Shots album.
4/21/07 Hero, Voren and Tee went home with their new families today. I'm sad and am missing them already. All I have to do, though, is look at the happy faces, remember that I'm helping families with allergies, and know that it's worth every minute! :) Everyone - please keep in touch!
4/27/07 Jewel met her new "sister" today and went to her new home, where I'm sure she's going to SHINE! :)
5/3/07 Well, the DNA results are in - and are very surprising! BOTH Marty and Mikko are daddys to pups in this litter! This is the FIRST time ever, in the history of the AHT, that this has happened! It's both a surprise and unexpected and we're very excited to now hold this honor.
Here's the run-down: Sonny didn't have enough DNA to test, so I am in the process of resubmitting his DNA. Voren is Marty's son. The rest of the pups; Jewel, Tee, Hero (renamed Dexter), and Marc (to be renamed Mango) all have Mikko as a daddy.
5/17/07 Mango-Marc went to live with his new family and got introduced to his first dog show on the weekend of the 5/5-6/07. Took some new pics of Sonny today, you can see them in his album.
