2010 House Remodel & Redecorating
Before and after pictures of our home redecorating projects. We moved into our home over 12 years ago with a lot of builder's grade products and a carpet that really should've been replaced at that time. Well we FINALLY got that darn carpet out, as well as a bathroom redo and a bunch of painting.

I hope you like the "after" pictures better than the "before" pictures.

We did the work ourselves with Jakob even pitching in (he's not a bad painter and is a really good carpet padding staple remover!)

Our good friend John has also helped us with some of the work. Thanks John!!!!

The bathroom (which is Jakob's bathroom). It has these bright blue tiles in the bathtub that are in perfect condition.

So with Jakob being a year old, I went with an underwater theme complete with hand painted fish, coral, seaweeds, etc. I was already patching holes and taking down hardware when I thought to take these pictures. I've always HATED this medicine cabinet!

The bathroom remodel. The new slate look floor covers the ugly tiles that were there. Jakob turns 13 this week, so we went with a much more mature and masculine color scheme.

New brushed nickel lighting and plates. The new mirror, vanity and sink are definite upgrades. The glass and brushed nickel tile backsplash fit right into the color scheme.

Another view. The walls are a butter yellow color called Oklahoma Wheat.

Forgot to take before pictures of my hallway. This had the same gray nasty carpeting and was painted a medium sage color. When we pulled up the carpeting we found this black/white linoleum pattern surprise. I'm working on the new Hawaiian Cherry KOA laminate flooring.

Getting more of the hallway flooring done. The flooring took me a lot longer than I thought it would. A future project will be to refinish the railing to better match the flooring.

Some of the walls are now a medium yellow.

The color in this picture is a bit off. The yellow wall on the left looks lighter than it actually is. The pumpkin orange wall on the right goes down the stairs to the basement.

The far door is the bathroom and those "lovely" blue tiles.

The living room with my ugly, worn, dirty gray carpet and awesome (smile) sponge painting that was the "in" thing to do 12 years ago.

Still working on the laminate floor...and a look at the new color on three of the walls in the living room. It's the same Oklahoma wheat color as in the bathroom.

The pottery red color on the tall wall. The color doesn't quite look right in this picture. The true color is not so bright and more subdued. John worked on the new taller floor molding that we purchased to replace the cheap builder's grade molding.

I'm really pleased with how it's all coming together!!

I like it. These projects always turn out to be a little more work & time than expected.
When all is done , you have the satisfaction of knowing to did it yourself.
Looks great. Keep up the good work.
