Meet Mikko - our first American Hairless Terrier!
Born January 22, 2003, Mikko came to us from Woodland Manor Kennel (WMK) in Florida. Thank you Karyn & Ryan Pingel for his AWESOME boy!
He's a traditionally marked AHT - spotted black, white and tan. He's an amazing and sensitive boy, who loves to please. He LOVES to catch tennis balls and dig holes.
Mikko has earned MANY honors and accomplishments in the conformation show ring! He's the only AHT to ever make the UKC Premier (by invitation/Top Ten results for the year) semi-finals AND he even placed #8 in the final!
He also has a CHAMPION title in Weight Pull. He stands out in the weight pull arena, among all of the typical BIG bully breeds that generally weight pull. He gets a lot of chuckles before people see him pull and amazed respect after they see him pull! We're working on proving that AHT's, despite being hairless and looking like "designer dogs", are sturdy, athletic and tenacious terriers...down to their soles!
Mikko also is titled in Terrier Racing both on the flat course and on the steepleshase course!
This boy succeeds in everything that he tries!
Mikko has been featured in two issues of Dog World and made a front page cover on a local newspaper. He's quite the star and holds many "AHT FIRST" milestones.
Mikko will be on semi-retirement after 2006 and will only participate in conformation events on an extremely limited basis. He will continue to weight pull and terrier race to his heart's content.
Mikko is available for stud service to approved females. We health check all of our breeding animals and expect the same from interested outside females. Mikko has many positive traits to pass on into the AHT gene pool and he'll gladly provide the stud service. Interested females can email us for further discussions at Triumph Kennel with questions.
