Cow:SCHREINER JEWELRY

Henry Schreiner founded the company around 1939 and died in 1954.Schreiner was a New York based business. His daughter Terry and her husband Ambros Albert joined the company in 1951 and continued the business until 1977.In addition to the Schreiner line, they made jewelry for fashion designers and jeweled belts.

Schreiner did design the pieces and they also designed pieces for couturiers which might have the fashion house's marks on the piece or be unsigned.

The line was never mass produced and the work was hand finished. The pieces were made in the USA in New York.

This bracelet, over the top even by Schreiner standards, features the most amazing chunks of hand-blown art glass, clear with spiralling orange stripes and glittering gold-dust inclusions. Four big glass cabs, in the colors of the dangles but with the addition of swirly brown veining, are set in Schreiner's characteristic frilly cups; dangling from each is a 1-1/8" bellflower-shaped glass drop topped off with a crystal chaton.Strung together in pale goldtone with Schreiner's unique hook-and-eye construction.
