Cow: STICK PINS/HAT PINS
Some additional information about Stick Pins and Hat Pins:

STICK PINS: Generally Stick pins are less than four inches long. The longer ones are referred to as Hat Pins. We can find Stick Pins signed with some of the most desirable names, such as Florenza and Haskell while other just as beautiful pins are unsigned. Here are some very nice examples of Stick Pins and great pictures of the backs. Collectible Jewels

HAT PINS: Hatpins appeared on the scene in the mid 1800's and rose to popularity in the early 1900's. They were worn to anchor hats to the head and could be considered a functional piece of jewelry. They were traditionally inserted into the crown of the hat and through the hair piled atop the head. Widely used down to the early 1950's as hats were still the fashion.
