This is the FAMOUS British War Relief pin which was designed by Robert R. Appleby and manufactured in 1940 by Accessocraft. This is pictured on THREE pages of Brunialti's "Tribute to America - Costume Jewelry 1935 - 1950". Page 20 has a black and white sketch of the design. Page 61 has a color picture and lots of detail about it, and page 44 has a copy of the cover of the January 1943 issue of "Town & Country" in which Veronica Lake is wearing a Lily Daché ermine beret and is holding up a Josef bag which has 26 emblems and pins from the Allied Nations pinned onto it...including this British War Relief pin!
