Get ready, set, show! Time to sort the numbers and attach rubber bands to them. Display your dog's number on your LEFT arm, facing the judge.
Lark was assigned number 20.
Sue and Ray pose before the start of Show 1 on Saturday. Ray's not quite sure he's having a good time at this point. The show was held at Thistledon Farms, a horse retirement farm. "Sue is so nice. Glad to know she is ..." View Comments...
A little bonding time before the show begins. Ray worked with Lark for several lessons prior to the show, so they really had the team spirit!
Watching the start of the Terrier Group. The rat terriers were called last in the Terrier Group.
Ray has a good grip on that show lead. Time to get rid of those pre-show jitters. Lark can't wait to explore all the new smells!
EVERYONE LOVES RAYMOND! Judge Pamela Simmons examines Lark in the Champions class while Darice Ragan, left, and Sue wait their turns.
GRCH Surf City's turn on the table. "Way to go..I know these two. This is..." View Comments...
PAYING ATTENTION PAYS OFF. Ray and Lark got a Reserve Champion ribbon the VERY FIRST TIME they stepped into the ring together.....congRATS!
SETTING UP each foot carefully. That's Oreo (CH Spring High's Color Me Smart) stacking for the judge's review. "Sue again!" View Comments...
Serious presentation, no joking around here between Ray and Lark.
Now it's Judge Linda Reece's turn to give Surf City the once-over. "Sue and Brielle's brother again!" View Comments...
RESULTS!! Time for a smile and a relaxed moment to enjoy the well-deserved ribbon.
THANK YOU, GARY (Ray's dad) FOR THESE WONDERFUL PHOTOS (1 through 13) taken on Saturday.
READY TO GO! Ray is quite the seasoned professional handler his second day showing, sporting a buttondown shirt and tie.
Photos 14 through 21 are from Sunday. THANKS, GARY, FOR TAKING THESE TERRIFIC PHOTOS! :)
BEING JUDGED, and it's Oreo's turn on the table. Ray waits to be next with Lark.
SURF CITY sizes up the judge as the judge approaches him. "Wow, how cute!" View Comments...
OREO: it's just so hard for a bouncy terrier to relax. Looks like she is concentrating on being a good girl and enjoying the show.
THE CHAMPIONS LINE UP! And if I recall correctly, the judge pinned the class in just this order.
HERE COMES THE JUDGE and Lark and Ray are ready.
ONCE AROUND THE RING and Ray guides Lark like a pro!
A JOB WELL DONE for three handlers and three colorful rat terriers. Matisse is a chocolate tri, Oreo is a black & white bi and Lark is a tan sable & white rattie.
