Sue is holding UKC GRCH Windys Blackjack @ Spring High (Jack is now retired).  She was born and raised in Parsippany, NJ and graduated from Parsippany High School and Rider College, Trenton, NJ.  She is a retired Morris Plains, NJ elementary school teacher and moved to Boynton Beach, Florida in 1996 to help her ill father after a 25-year teaching career.  She has interest in and has owned and shown quarter horses and American Saddlebreds.  In addition, she has owned and shown several antique and classic cars. Her parents had moved to Boynton Beach in 1975, so it was a home away from home already, and an easy transition to come to Florida.

Bruce joins Sue and Jack.  Bruce lived until the age of 15 in rural Huntington, NY next to Wix's potato fields (home of the famous "Long Island Potatoes").  His family moved to Boynton Beach, Florida in 1960. He attended Seacrest High School, Palm Beach Junior College, US Navy Class "A" Electricians school in Davisville, RI and then was shipped off to Japan with the Navy CB's as a Telephone Equipment trouble shooter and military SP.  Upon return to "The States" he became an FPL lineman, FPL cable splicer, Palm Beach County Bridge Electrician, and had his own business as a welder, metal fabricator and machinist in Boynton Beach for many years.   Sue and Bruce left Boynton Beach and moved to Lake City in January, 2005.

Here is our location -  Lake City, Florida.  Lake City is about 70 miles west of Jacksonville, and about 100 miles east of Tallahassee.  We moved here from Boynton Beach.  Boynton Beach (Palm Beach County) is about 350 miles south, on the east coast of Florida, between West Palm Beach and Delray Beach.

Here's SPRING HIGH'S SUNFLOWER, the rat terrier that started it all for Bruce and me.  Sunflower was born October 18, 1999.  We got her as a puppy from BMW motorcycle friends in Ft. Lauderdale.  She matured to 17 pounds.  What prey drive she has!

2013 Update: Sunflower is  spayed and is a beloved house pet and bed dog.

2015 Update: Sunflower crossed the Rainbow Bridge on June 02, 2015.  We miss her dearly.

Sue and Bruce, It was a sad day today since I  had to put Rudy to sleep. He was with me every day (except 6) since I brought him home from your home in 2005. We were truly devoted to each other.  It will be an adjustment for Ripple, remember the toy we got from you about 4 or 5 years later? Both of them have given me so much joy in my life.  I will miss Rudy but he  lead a good life and always enjoyed a good life.   I hope all is well with  you.   Allan  Pierce

Hi Sue
We connected several weeks ago via referral by Rob and Kat Deane of Viera FL. We would love to visit sometime in mid September after b
vacation to see your rat terriers. We are specifically looking for a female who would be a loved pet and a service dog for my husband. Either a puppy or young adult would be perfect. Do you expect to have a litter in that time frame?

Thank you
Sharon Calvert

Mr. Bruce,
You have quite the website here.  Do you ever make moonshine stills?  I was told that during a big crisis, people are looking for whiskey.  I don't drink booze but it would be good for prepping.  Must be copper, of course.
