Charles Ledbetter Edit
January 7, 2011 Preliminary autopsy results show an Amarillo man died Saturday of smoke inhalation when his mobile home burned down, authorities said Thursday.

Fire officials found Charles Ray Ledbetter, 66, and his Labrador retriever Scooter dead in a mobile home at 906 Ottawa Trail, said Randall County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Danny Alexander.

About 2:10 p.m. Saturday, fire crews were dispatched to the mobile home. Randall County, Canyon, Lake Tanglewood and Amarillo fire crews battled the blaze, which began in one mobile home and spread to an unoccupied mobile home, authorities said.

The mobile homes were fully engulfed, but fire crews quickly extinguished the fire, Alexander said.
