Chris P. In the 1st video I am not riding in the engine compartment. I am sitting securely on the fender monitoring the engine. Both me & the driver are wearing ear protection. There were 2 fire extinguishers close by. One on the tank and 1 in the truck towing the tank. Instead of making several negitive comments maybe you should ask questions first. - Steve, Wed, 23 Apr 2008 9:26PM
Kudos to these guys for restoring this thing!, but they really need to work on their safety proceedures. In the third video the driver takes off before the guy in the red shirt is secured in the turret. Notice how just after he gets in the turret the tank lurches. If he had not yet been in the turret when that lurch occured he could have easily been thrown from the top. And in the first video is he riding in the engine compartment?! I sure hope they have installed some sort of fire supression system. I don't see anyone standing nearby with a fire extinguisher (though that could be off camera), and nobody is wearng any safety geer. I beleive that this is on a milatary base in Northern Oregon(?). All they need is one injury and projects like this can get shut down pretty quickly. - Chris P., Thu, 17 Apr 2008 4:41AM
