Quilted Meadows Miniature Horses
Quilted Meadows is a farm located in the quaint town of Tuckahoe New Jersey,consisting of Tennessee Walking horses,Minature Horses and Rat Terrier dogs. Vicki and Colleen are very excited in getting the minis ready for the show circuit
After owning horses from the age of 13, growing up and getting married,my husband and I bought our first Walking horse,a mare in foal in 1984.
That was the beginning of Quilted Meadows. We began raising natural Walking horses. This started a whole new learning experience not all of it good.
The Tennessee Walking horse is a wonderful animal-sensible,smooth gaited and trusting. Finding out about abuse many of these fine animals suffered,led to many years of participation in sound horse organizations and support of the sound horse circuit. FOSH (Friends of Sound Horses) and HSUS are currently leading the fight to eliminate this abuse. Check out their websites.
My daughter Martha Chatten was the trainer and the rider here at Quilted Meadows. I am often referred to as Martha's mother.She is now a RN, but does do a few lessons and helps gaited horse owners.
My Tennessee Walking horse stallion was gelded at the age of fourteen and still lives here at the ripe age of 26. His companion mare just passed in the fall of 2019 at the age of 39. I still own a few Walking horses that I might be talked into selling to a good home.
