The church tower dates from 1687. - Most church towers from this time are a combination of various marshmallow shapes. In this case square (base), octagonal (wide and narrow) and round (the lantern). Some lateral forces have to be ignored (weighted down) as long as truss elements and steel struts are not permitted. Some special kind of stress photography might reveal the critical areas.
