This is Tootsie!
Tootsie and her brother on their freedom ride. She is comfortable in her crate and often curls up in it at home.
When they finally arrived in Virginia all the way from Georgia, Tootsie and her brother settled right into their foster home, happy to be in a safe and warm place.
Pretty early on, Tootsie claimed the chair next to foster mom's desk as her own. She's saying "I'm right here. Pay attention to me, please."
Just want to be . . . close to you! These eyes adore you!
Right after Tootsie arrived we got hit with snow and more snow. It took a lot of encouragement to get her to go out in it. Like most ratties, she is not a fan of bad weather, but she is a trooper.
Between the cold and the ice she wanted back in really quickly.
As much as she has adjusted to leash walks, she doesn't really potty on them, so she needs a fenced yard. And this little princess prefers you go with her, thank you very much. She is pretty prompt once she's outside.
Settled down on another favorite perch and keeping tabs on foster mom. If I move she follows. If I run an errand and don't take the dogs with me, she's very excited when I come home and doesn't want to let me out of her sight. But there's no evidence of separation anxiety - she doesn't damage or chew anything while I'm gone.
The more comfortable she's become, the more curious she is about what's happening outside. If anyone approaches the house, she will warn foster mom with some barking, but she's otherwise really quiet in the house and the yard.
Eventually the snow melted enough that we were able to go for walks in the park. She loves the ride in the car and exploring all the smells. It's clearly a new experience for her but she really likes being outside and checking things out.

One day after our walk on the trails, I took them with me when I stopped at a local HomeGoods. She didn't like riding in a cart along with foster bro, but was perfectly happy to walk beside me while I looked at picture frames and not at all fazed by people in the store. She accepted all greetings from the other shoppers as her due.
She waited patiently until I finished my browsing and stayed quietly in line until it was our turn to check out. No pulling or whining. She's a very good girl.
After coming back home, the afternoon sun was hitting the heated floors just right, and Tootsie decided it was even nicer for an afternoon nap than her usual spots.
Tootsie is a smart, affectionate, and curious girl who's full of life. As the weather has warmed up, she's shown signs of wanting to run and chase a bit, and she really likes those trail walks. As attached as she is to her person, she might also appreciate having a canine sibling to play with.

Tootsie is a relaxed, moderate energy girl who is happy to spend the day curled up near you, and who is also up for whatever adventures you want to take her on. All she really wants is to be part of your life. She will be a wonderful addition to the right home. Is it yours?
