Meet Kirby, a young, athletic bundle of energy wrapped in a sleek Rat Terrier package!

Kirby's rescue journey started when he was picked up as a stray and landed in a Georgia animal shelter.  He looks so uncertain in this shelter photo, but is full of confidence now!

Kirby's adventures continued -- New Rattitude pulled him from the shelter, got him fully vetted, and flew him to his Michigan foster home, courtesy of Pilots N Paws.

Handsome Kirby is 1-2 years old, and weighs 16-17 lbs.

Kirby is probably a purebred Rat Terrier.   He has a docked tail and is a "blue tri" (blue/white/tan colors).

Kirby LOVES toys!  He pulls them out of the toy box one by one and is happy to play by himself or play ball or tug with a human.

Everything is a toy to Kirby, so don't leave your shoes (or in this case, a leash) laying around!

Kirby has long legs and is full of speed!  As you can see, he enjoys a fenced yard where he can run off energy and stretch those long legs of his.

Kirby loves to go on walks.  He's pretty good on leash - better with a harness than a collar because he does pull a bit. He is reactive when he encounters strange dogs who are also on leash.

Kirby's foster mom cautiously says he is housetrained.  He has had a few accidents but now is mainly accident-free.  The belly band was used in the beginning until he could be trusted without it.

Kirby loves to roll in the grass and scratch his back.

Puzzles like this keep Kirby occupied.  It didn't take long for him to figure out how to find and retrieve the chicken!  His expression at the end of the video says, "More please?"

Kirby is playing chase with his foster sister in this video.  He does his "signature roll" at the end!

He's a sweet, playful boy that will make someone a great companion!
