Hi! I'm Luna.

I'm an always-curious 3 years old with a big personality to match my big size (35 lbs.). So there is  that lots of me to love!

I'm an enthusiastically playful, high spirited gal who is always in the mood to go on adventures! I love toys, especially if someone plays with me. I love a good game of tug-of-war, and I can play fetch (and bring it back)  as long as you are willing.

I love anything that squeaks and will entertain myself for hours!

I LOVE learning new tricks! The one I’m most proud of is balancing a treat on my nose and then catching it when you say “take!” Some of the other tricks in my repertoire include sit, stay, off, leave it, paw, lie down, roll over, back, come, dance/spin, and kissie!

I'm reliably house trained and crate trained. I'm used to peacefully spending weekdays in my crate as well as overnight.

When I'm not on Sniff Patrol duties around the house -- just in case any bugs or other critters might have found their way inside -- I'm happy to just relax on my bed. Oh, and did I mention I’m also excellent in a crate? If I’m in an unfamiliar place, I might get nervous if I hear noises I don’t recognize, but day-to-day, I’m a pro! I’m not a night owl so I’m often the first one to go to bed, especially if you say “bedtime!”

When I’m not playing or running around outside, I still like to watch the backyard for squirrels and birds. Sometimes I’ll growl and make little woofs just to let them know I’m keeping my eyes on them.

I love it when my people finish the yoghurt, because I get to lick the tub, and you can be sure that I get every last bit!

As perfect as I am in so many ways, I do have to admit to a fault, and that is that I get overly excited and reactive (barky) when I meet someone new in my house. It doesn't take me too long to get used to them, especially if they offer me treats, and then I'm happy to bring them my toys to play with. (Incidentally, do you notice the cool spots on my ears? I get my name because I look like the moon-- pure white with some dark spots that look like craters. Fun fact, I also have spots on my tummy that I’ll happily show off!

I really do love other dogs but sometimes they don't appreciate my persistent, playful energy. If you have another high-energy, playful dog, I'm sure we would become best friends and keep each other entertained.

I also admit to a bit of resource guarding with high-value treats, but if I start growling over something wonderfully desirable and my people tell me to leave it, I will obey the command. And I won't take treats or food unless you tell me "Take!" I would love to show you how smart and obedient I am and how much I love to please!

Aww, Luna, you are absolutely captivating! You sound like a perfect candidate for living life large with puzzle toys, tricks-learning, biking in harness and digging for voles out in the fields! I’ll bet that reactivity could be worked on with the right approach, hand-in-paw with polite leash-walking and mitigating your minor possessive tendencies. You’ve got a great foster home to have taught you so much already! You look like an identical twin to a blank square-filling pup on my Western Border Collie Rescue’s January calendar page! I did SUCH a double-take!! Had to peer very closely at nose and ear spots to be sure it wasn’t you! Our old border-mix rescue is 14, but BCs can live a long time, and he’s the jealous type. We’ll be keeping an eye on you, tho! Much luck in your search for the perfect forever home! Best from Idaho! <3
