Affectionate and athletic--that's Augie! Aloof and enigmatic--that's Augie too! These contradictions help make him so endearingly special.

Augie
Augie is one of the most special (and handsome) dogs you'll ever meet.

Augie
He's long-legged and a strong 25 lbs.

Augie
Augie was clearly loved by his first adopter (now deceased). He came to his foster home with a toy box full of very nice toys, which he takes good care of. See how gently he's holding the dragon?

Augie
Although he was an only dog, he has learned how to live with other dogs. He's still a bit wary meeting new dogs and does best with dogs that are smaller than he is.

Augie
He has decided that playing with some of his canine foster siblings can be a lot of fun.

Augie
Here he is in his foster home, meeting a guest. Both boys were soon playing.

Augie
His biggest quirk is that he may growl if you offer a gentle pet or scratch behind the ears. Respect his growl, and he will soon come back and request a little love.

Augie
He likes to put his paws on your chair as though he would love to join you. But he won't jump up on your lap and he definitely doesn't want you to pick him up. Sometimes this sweet pose means something else like "let's play!" or "I'd like to go out please."

Augie
He was a well-mannered guest when he visited a friend's home. It definitely helped that they had a rope toy for him.
