Meet Gigi! She’s just about two years old, weighs 12 lbs, and has a classic rattie temperament and a big “on” switch.
Gigi is a high energy girl who loves to chase and play in the yard. She barks at the deer and the squirrels, tries to catch any lizards she sees, and alerts foster mom if she catches sight of anybody new!
Download MOV 3 Video of Gigi starting her morning in the yard! Good morning, y’all!
Taking a brief pause after chasing around the yard. She’s really checking to make sure foster mom is watching. She likes to be near her person and if she’s outside, she likes to know foster mom is nearby.
We’re about to go back in the house but it’s time for one last pose! Gigi also does well on leash and loves to walk in the nearby parks. We don’t know anything about her history, but she does startle easily if she sees a stranger or another dog, so she needs a little training to get comfortable with all the new sights and sounds out there. The yard allows her to play and explore to her heart’s content in a safe and secure environment while she’s learning it’s safe to be in the big world.
After a long morning walk where she saw people and bicycles and trucks and barking dogs, she’s tuckered! A little nap is clearly in order.
Next to running in the yard or going on a walk, Gigi loves to play with her toys. Part of the fun is emptying out her toy basket after foster mom has put all the toys away. She is a champion de-stuffer and de-squeaker.
Download MOV 8 This is a video of Gigi playing with one of her favorite toys and giving it the “rattie shake.”
She also loves to chew on her nylabone. She’s a good girl and her toys are all she chews on. She likes sitting near the window to enjoy the sun and look out.
Gigi is pretty focused on her person but she does get along with other dogs. Waiting patiently for foster mom to open the door - there are treats inside!
She gets along just fine with the other dogs, but she wants to be in charge. In this picture, she’s wiggled herself between foster mom and foster sis - Gigi always wants to be next to her person.
She does have an “off” switch! After so much play it’s time for a nap.
So sleepy, but . . . just sneaking a peak to make sure foster mom is still there.
Aaahhh - snuggling in. Her favorite position.
She’s got the sweetest face, beautiful brown eyes that look right at you, and just the tiniest underbite. Even in sleep those ears are perked up making sure she doesn't miss a thing.
Such a sweet face! LOL. She’s not nearly as fierce as she looks!
Gigi is a really smart and wonderful girl. Her high energy and intelligence are hallmark characteristics of the breed. Because she’s still young, she needs some training, a little patience, and a lot of love to help her become her best. She’s a good listener and she’s come a long way. She’s hoping you’re the one to help her go the rest of the way!
