This is Fritz, aka "Jack." He is about 9 months old and has filled out to 10.6 lbs. He is a very handsome boy.
Download MPEG4 2 This video shows why he got the name Jumpin' Jack Flash - the little shorty has springs in his legs! His foster sister is worried he'll get her dinner. The counter is too high, but don't leave your snacks out on the coffee table!
This is Jack's "Sheesh, how much longer before dinner?" look. "I've been waiting forever. Can I at least have a treat?" Jack loves mealtime, treat time, and crunching on antlers and bully sticks.
Here he is with a chew toy. He went through the whole toy box to find his favorite antler and he will happily gnosh on it for a while. And you will be happy to know he doesn't chew on furniture, pillows, or shoes. He's very well-behaved.
Jack loves to explore in the yard and lets the squirrels know who's boss! A fenced yard is a good idea for this energetic boy to play and burn off that puppy energy. He also loves to chase the lure on a flirt stick and will chase and chase until he catches the toy.
He keeps an eye on things and he has found his voice and will bark at squirrels, especially if he can't get to them. He wants the squirrel (and everyone else) to know that this is his yard. He likes to weave in and out of the ivy and trees and play hide and seek.
Jack is the cute, smart guy in class! In a couple of short weeks he has mastered basic commands like sit, stay, and go potty. He pays attention to his person and will be eager to keep learning with his new family.
He's a muted tricolor, with liquid brown eyes, ears that fold over - yes, they are rattie ears!- and a white blaze right down the center of his forehead.
Jack grew up with a rattie sibling and he likes other dogs. He is good at entertaining himself but he is so happy being part of his pack that he would probably do best with at least one other doggy bud.
Jack has integrated easily into his foster pack and loves to be with them, play with them, and cuddle with them. Here he is with his foster sister.
This is Jack (in the foreground) sprawled happily on top of both his foster siblings. They all hang out together and sleep together at night - with foster mom, of course!
Jack loves, loves, loves his leash walks and goes out with the pack several times a day, where he's happy to greet other people and other dogs. In between, foster mom lets him out in the yard. He has learned the command "go potty." As long as he's kept on a schedule he takes care of his business outside.
Jack likes people, too! In the last several weeks he's gone from his former home to a temp foster home to his permanent foster home. He's managed all that change and excitement with grace and style, and charmed a lot of people with his endearing little face and loving ways. He's now quick to recognize people in the neighborhood who might have a treat for him and can hardly wait to say hi.
Jack loves his person and follows his foster mom around wherever she goes - he's a little bit velcro! After all that play his favorite place to be is in her lap, and once there he snuggles in and breathes a big sigh of contentment.
Once he's down for the night, he will sleep right through. He even is happy to sleep "in" as long as he is cuddled with his person, so you can still have those lazy weekend mornings.
Jack is ready to go to his "furever" home! Are you ready for the perfect addition to your family? He will settle right in and before long you won't want to imagine life without him.
