She's very pretty despite the skin flaws! She sounds like the perfect teddy. - Mary Beth, Tue, 20 Jul 2010 4:41PM
You did a great job portraying Dixie Darling. I sit here in tears as I just had to put my Dixie to sleep two days ago and decided to look on line at rat terriers available for adoption. Dixie was just like Dixie Darling sounds. The most precious dog in the world. She too had skin problems and got allergies every year. I found her when I was out jogging one day and tried to find her owner but soon determined that she had been abandoned and she was very afraid of being left so I took her to work with me for 4 years until my husband retired. We have 6 acres of land and Dixie was free to run and chase rats and rabbits and loved every minute of it but in the house she was calm and loving and my best buddy in the whole world. She did shed a lot which was her only vice. She appeared to be born without a tail. I found her at about age 6 months and she lived until 12 years old. She got a cancerous growth in her spleen which I had surgery done and removed but she could never get over it. She was having seizures and could not breath and was truly suffering in my opinion and my vets so I took what had to be the hardest move of my life and put her to sleep and buried her in her field she loved so much. I don't know if Dixie Darling is what I want again but she sure sounds like my lost buddy. Where are you located? I am in Lincolnton NC close to Charlotte? - Cindy Sherrill, Thu, 25 Feb 2010 6:23AM
