I was wandering around lost in a lonely parking lot when a nice lady cared enough to stop to check on me. At first I wasn't sure I should go to her but when she said, "Do you want to go, come get in the car," I perked up, and ran and jumped into her car.

Laps are the best! I love snuggling with people and when they settle down to watch TV I am either stretched out smack-dab against them or I'm filling their lap.

I am a friendly gal who loves humans and I consider strangers as friends I just haven't met yet.

In many of these photos, you can see how I have a moth-eaten appearance. But these scars are only on the surface - and while I may not be the most beautiful dog due to my hair loss, but my foster mom says, "Pretty IS as pretty DOES. And Dixie, you are Beautiful!"

She's very pretty despite the skin flaws!  She sounds like the perfect teddy.

You did a great job portraying Dixie Darling.  I sit here in tears as I just had to put my Dixie to sleep two days ago and decided to look on line at rat terriers available for adoption. Dixie was just like Dixie Darling sounds.  The most precious dog in the world.  She too had skin problems and got allergies every year.  I found her when I was out jogging one day and tried to find her owner but soon determined that she had been abandoned and she was very afraid of being left so I took her to work with me for 4 years until my husband retired.  We have 6 acres of land and Dixie was free to run and chase rats and rabbits and loved every minute of it but in the house she was calm and loving and my best buddy in the whole world.  She did shed a lot which was her only vice.  She appeared to be born without a tail.  I found her at about age 6 months and she lived until 12 years old.  She got a cancerous growth in her spleen which I had surgery done and removed but she could never get over it.  She was having seizures and could not breath and was truly suffering in my opinion and my vets so I took what had to be the hardest move of my life and put her to sleep and buried her in her field she loved so much.  I don't know if Dixie Darling is what I want again but she sure sounds like my lost buddy.  Where are you located?  I am in Lincolnton NC close to Charlotte?
